How do I activate the Fallback System?
What is the purpose of the Fallback System?
If it should happen that no more keys can be created using the Dialock software, keys can also be created using the MDU with the help of the fallback system.
For this, you will need:
- the MDU
- an MDU-authorized personnel transponder (privileged transponder)
- guest transponder (for handing out to guests later)
Activation of the Fallback System:
- Select "Terminal" > "Fallback System" > "On" on the MDU
- Hold the MDU up to the door's reading sensor
- The MDU now displays “Authorize at terminal”
- Put the MDU to the side and present the privileged transponder to the sensor (the terminal should beep once and light up white)
- Hold the MDU in front of the terminal one more time, afterwards you should see “Transfer completed”.
- The terminal will now flash white. While the terminal is in this state you can hold any number of keys in front of the reader to provide them with access rights.
These programmed transponders can now be used on the door in addition to the transponders that are already working and are valid until the Fallback System is deactivated on the terminals again.
Deactivation of the Fallback System:
The Fallback System can be deactivated again using the MDU or by presenting a valid guest key that was created using the software.
Afterwards, all keys that have been created via the Fallback System will no longer be valid.
Deactivation by MDU:
- Select "Terminal" > "Fallback System" > "Off" on the MDU
- Hold the MDU up to the door's reading sensor
- The MDU now displays “Authorize at terminal”
- Put the MDU to the side and present the privileged transponder to the sensor (the terminal should beep once and light up white)
- Hold the MDU in front of the terminal one more time, afterwards you should see “Transfer completed”.
