DG1 - How and where do I restart the Dialock HMS services?

From time to time it can happen that cards can no longer be encoded via the KeyWriter or the PMS. In this case, it may help to restart one or more services. Here you can find out where to find the relevant services and how to (re)start them.

IMPORTANT! The following steps must be carried out on the server.

1. Opening Windows services

Press Windows + R and enter “services.msc”. The “Services” application will now open. Left-click once in the list and type an “H” on the keyboard to jump to the services with H like “Häfele”.

2. Check and restart Dialock HMS services

In the figure below you can see which services can be installed on the server. Administration” and ‘ServiceMonitor’ should always be present. The “KeyManagement” must be installed on every PC on which the “KeyWriter” is used and the card encoding is to take place. This may or may not be the server.

The “Distributor” and “Fidelio” services are optional and their necessity depends on whether a PMS uses one of these interfaces. (Please note the protocol used in the brackets).

The following sequence should be followed when starting:

  1. Administration
  2. Service Monitor
  3. KeyManagement (on each client in use!)

Followed by optional services:

  1. Distributor (uses XML)
  2. Fidelio (uses FIAS)
